Keyonte Darnell George (born November 8, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing 185 pounds (84 kg), George plays point guard and shooting guard. He played one season of college basketball for the Baylor Bears before being selected by the Jazz with the 16th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. George is the son of former professional basketball player Jason Siggers.

Early Life 

High School Career

 

George began his high school career at Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas. As a freshman, he averaged 21 points, four rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game, earning District 6-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors. As a sophomore, he averaged 23.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game while winning District 6-6A MVP.

 

For his junior season, George transferred to iSchool of Lewisville, where he averaged 24.8 points per game. He then moved to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, for his senior season, averaging 17.8 points per game while shooting 41% from three-point range. George was rated as a consensus five-star recruit and considered one of the top players in the 2022 recruiting class.

 

College Career

 

George attended Baylor University for the 2022-23 season. In his lone college season, he started all 33 games and averaged 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. George scored 506 total points, the second-most by a freshman in Baylor history, and set a program record with 20 games of 20+ points.

 

On January 11, 2023, George scored a career-high 32 points with seven rebounds against West Virginia. He reached the 20-point mark in 11 other games during the season, including performances against Norfolk State (November 11) and Kansas State (February 21), when he made a career-high six three-pointers. He earned Big 12 Rookie of the Year honors. Following the season, George declared for the NBA Draft.

 

NBA Career

 

Utah Jazz (2023–Present)

 

George was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 16th overall pick on June 22, 2023. He made his NBA debut on October 25, 2023. During his rookie season (2023-24), George appeared in 75 games, starting 56, and averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game. He demonstrated significant improvement in playmaking, averaging 4.6 assists compared to just 2.8 at Baylor.

 

Through the 2025-26 season (as of February 10, 2026), George has emerged as a key building block for the rebuilding Jazz. He is averaging career-highs of 23.8 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game while serving as the team’s primary ball-handler and offensive initiator. His scoring ranks 20th in the NBA, while his assists rank 15th. George has shown marked improvement in efficiency, shooting 45.8% from the field.

 

On February 8, 2026, George suffered a right ankle sprain against Orlando and is listed as day-to-day. The Jazz exercised their $4.28 million team option for 2025-26 in October 2024 and their $6.56 million team option for 2026-27 in October 2025.

 

Personal Life

 

George has developed a close relationship with Jazz head coach Will Hardy, who provides direct feedback and late-night calls with defensive reminders. George serves as Hardy’s “second him on the floor,” executing the coach’s vision for the team.
